BIO
When asked why he chose to pursue a career in the accounting field, Paul has a unique response: the field was recommended to him by the FBI! At the beginning of his career, Paul spent 10 years working in support services for the investigative bureau, and during that time he studied the organization’s accounting curriculum. Paul’s clients appreciate his discipline and respect, the characteristics that make Paul good at his job. They also enjoy his funny side—Paul is quite a jokester.
Paul graduated from George Mason University in 1986 and established his career with the FBI. In 1998, he joined the HeimLantz team. His hard work and dedication have made him an integral member of the firm. Today, Paul serves as a principal and the manager of the firm’s Alexandria office. He specializes in performing tax and financial planning with the goal of minimizing tax burdens and optimizing wealth growth. Paul works with clients in the law, medical, IT, and services sectors, helping both businesses and individuals grow and prosper through planning and problem solving.
In addition to being licensed as a CPA in Virginia, Maryland, and Florida, Paul is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a Personal Financial Specialist. Earning these specialized designations was a natural progression in Paul’s career, since many wealth management investment and planning opportunities have a tax impact that financial advisors without a CPA background fail to readily comprehend.
A native of California, Paul currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. He enjoys the area because it offers convenient access to all types of restaurants, theaters, and sporting events. In his free time, Paul enjoys exercising and reading. When he has the opportunity to travel, his favorite destination is Western Europe, where he likes to take in the history and charm found there.
