Local accounting and business advisory firm, HeimLantz, is pleased to announce that Daniel Russell, CPA, ABV, CFF, CVA, CFE and Sheri Mergenthaler, CFP®, CPWA®, CDFA® recently presented at a MACPA Event titled “Having the Right Energy at the Right Time! & Financial Planning Techniques for All Stages of Life.
“Personal financial planning is a topic that I am really passionate about,” said Sheri Mergenthaler. “It takes careful preparation to lay the pathway for a stable, long-term financial future. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to present on this important subject.”
The event took place on February 24, 2020 at Anne Arundel Community College. Attendees had the opportunity to earn up to four hours of CPE. Some of the major topics discussed during the presentation included understanding the various stages of financial planning and the essential planning techniques, identifying the pros and cons of various retirement plan types (IRA, 401K, etc.), and recognizing the importance of combining personal financial planning with business succession planning. The goal of the presentation was to educate the audience on the various financial planning techniques for all stages of life and the differences between various retirement and succession plan options.

A member of the HeimLantz team since 2013, Dan currently serves as a senior manager. He leads the firm’s Consulting Business Unit and serves as a client relationship manager. Dan holds a Bachelor of Art in Philosophy and Mathematics from St. John’s College and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Baltimore. He lives in Annapolis with his wife and their three children.
Sheri joined HeimLantz in 2006 and currently serves as a wealth management advisor. She specializes in comprehensive planning and in helping individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals. A 2011 graduate of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, Sheri holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance. She currently lives in Edgewater, Maryland with her family.
